Chapter 2:
Justin Underwood
"No, man. She's really hot. I mean like her heart is, too. I might be falling for her and it's only been a couple of hours." I said.
"Just play it cool and everything will be fine," said Ben, my friend.
I didn't think I'd even like her. After she came to my house this morning, I followed her back to her house. We took a walk and talked. She's from Atlanta. She has a younger brother. She has a beautiful voice and can play the piano. She's funny, too. I said 'So do you like football?' and she said 'Well, I'll watch it, but I'd much rather be playing video games or doing something lazy than playing it.' Okay, it's probably not very funny to you, but I told her what I liked- video games, football, ect.- and she replied like that. She's perfect. I don't think she's ever fall for me. Plus, when I asked her if she'd ever dated a guy, she said not really, but that one guy liked her for five years and then suddenly wouldn't talk to her anymore. Just by the way she talked about him, I know she still has feelings for him. I mean, she teared up! She isn't thinking about me! She's still thinking about him.
"This dinner is fabulous!" said mom.
"Thank you! I tried a new rub on the steak," said Mr. Bennet.
"Well, it's really great," I said.
"Why don't we go into the living room and talk?" dad asked.
While they went to talk, Adeline took my hand and pulled me upstairs. We opened her window and climbed onto the roof.
"So...how'd you like dinner?" she asked.
I couldn't concentrate on what she said. I was too busy looking to her eyes. The moon was coming up and she looked stunning. I didn't know what to say because I hadn't really heard her clearly. She said something about liking something. I panicked and said what was ringing in my ears all day.
"Will you go out with me?"
"What?" she said puzzled.
Oh no. What did I do? Did I really just ask that? I just ruined everything. I thought I did. She just looked at me and smiled. I really didn't know how to take that. What was that supposed to mean?
"Yeah. I would," she smiled.
Really? Score! I almost screamed! Thank you, God!
"Great."
I can't believe I just said that so calmly.
"How about tomorrow?"
"When?"
"All day. and then we can go to a movie tomorrow night," I said.
"Hmmm... I don't know if I can handle a whole day with you, but I'll give it a shot." she smiled.
Really? Are you serious? How are you so perfect? There wasn't a more perfect answer. She makes me feel like a loser. Maybe that's why I like her so much. She's real.
